is a white grape which originated in the area of Rhone. It almost disappeared in the past, and the strains found in France are old and quite unproductive. Today it is cultivated in Spain (Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia), and in Argentina, Australia, the U.S., New Zealand and Uruguay.
Its golden yellow colour is very characteristic. It is difficult to cultivate. When it is mature, it can have up to 15 degrees of alcohol, and produces concentrated, bulky wines mostly drunk in their first two years, to appreciate their floral aromas and spicy reminiscences.
