is a white grape which apparently originated in Galicia, and which is grown in Argentina, Chile and Spain. In Argentina it forms part of the denominations of almost all the wine regions, mainly in Cafayate and Chilecito Valley. In Spain, it is found in Galicia, and especially in the region of Ribeiro, in the province of Orense, although it can also be found in Alicante and Yecla. It has a neutral taste, and good acidity. It can have between 10 and 12 degrees of alcohol and levels of acid of 5.5 to 7. Some people consider it a relative of the muscatel, because their aromas are extremely similar.
