is a white grape originally grown Rhone, a region of France, where it is blended with Marsanne. This grape is also called Barbin, Bergeron, Martin Cot, Fromental, Rebolot, Babellot, Ramoulette, Greffou, Picotin Blanc and Courtoisie It is a variety allowed in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage and Saint-Joseph DOCs. Also grown in Australia, Spain, the United States (California and Washington), Italy (Tuscany), its performance is being researched in Chile. Its clusters are medium-sized, with small amber yellow round grapes. They later acquire a pinkish-brown color when they mature, which gives the name to the variety. In cold climates, it produces wines reminiscent of herbal teas with flowers, which are delicate, with high acidity. In hot climates its wines are unctuous, with flavours of honey and pears, and a full body. It is a delicate variety, not easy to cultivate and of irregular yield.
