Caíño tinto<7strong> is a variety originally from Galicia, known as Amaral, Azal Tinto, Caiño Bravo, Caíño Cachón, among others. It's a strain that ripens late which is medium, with loose clusters of dark-blue grapes and which adds intense flavour, producing fruity wines that are ruby-red in colour. It is one of the strains used in the Rias Baixas and Ribeiro DOs. It is also made in the Minho region in Portugal, where it is one of the famous Vinho Verde, named like that because they are consumed when still very young.
