Writers Tears Double Oak description

Writers Tears Double Oak

  • Colour: Writers Tears Double Oak has a bright amber colour with garnet highlights.
  • Aroma: Sweet bouquet charged with vanilla, cinnamon, and fruity notes of plum, and poached pear.
  • Taste: Juicy on the palate, with flavours of stone fruit, lychee, and lemon peel, with a soft touch of grape skin. The finish is long, rich, and aromatic, full of spicy dark chocolate.

PRODUCER: Walsh Whiskey.

COUNTRY: Ireland.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: This wonderful creation is the result of blending two premium whiskies, both single malt, and both triple distilled from a single pot still. The whiskies are then aged in two different types of casks, American oak from Kentucky and French oak from Cognac, thanks to a delicious alliance with the Legaret family in this region in France. Eleven years of ageing were necessary to bring out the flavours and aromas that make this an exceptional spirit. The end result is a truly fine whisky, charged with the bold and spicy flavours of sweet vanilla from the American oak, and the silky tannins and fruity flavours from the French oak. For a marvellous experience, this whisky is better enjoyed neat, or poured over ice with just a splash of water.
