The Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a blend of several awarded Yamazaki whiskies and was launched in spring, 2014. While usually the malts from Suntory get their finish from Bordeaux wine and sherry casks, the Distiller's Reserve also contains Single Malt that had matured in Mizunara casks. These are barrels of Japanese oak, which have a strong traditional value in the Asian country.
