The Chita

The Chita is a complex Japanese Whisky with great depth in flavour thanks to Shinji Fukuyo choosing to age Chita in wine and Spanish oak casks in addition to white oak. The result is a mild, smoother grain whisky with unparalleled sophistication and a clean, clear finish.

A single grain from corn that differs from the roundness characteristic of the Bourbons
Chita is the name of the distillery Suntory specialized in grain whiskey production and located on the peninsula of the same name.
This single grain is made from corn. It is a blend of three distillates and five profiles of different whiskeys. Aged in three types of barrels - wine barrels, Spanish oak casks and barrels American white oak - it removes softness and sophistication.
We are far from the roundness and opulence of bourbons and whiskeys corn.

The Chita Suntory is a grain whiskey created by the Japanese company Suntory. Suntory in 1972 decided to create its first grain whiskey. He put the name paying homage to Japanese Chita Peninsula. And to create it, they followed with the classic Japanese style: looking for the perfect ripening. The recipe is a creation of Keizo Saji, the second Master Blender of Suntory, which was inspired to follow the vision of Shinjiro Torii.
