You will like to know that…
The Talisker Distillery was built on the Scottish Isle of Skye back in 1830. Now the oldest distillery operating on the island, which is located off the west coast of Scotland, the whisky is influenced by the rocks and sea that surround it. Talisker Storm , first released in 2013, is just one of the fine whiskies offered in the Talkisker portfolio.
This fine whisky is dressed to impress, with the label art showing a stormy Scottish sea printed on the dark blue label to welcome you into the vision behind this whisky. Crafted to be rugged, this spirit comes with no age statement but has the same characteristics of its sibling, Talisker 10 Year Old, with all of the exciting parts amplified. It is warmer, smokier, and more peppery, making this a single malt Scotch whisky that can really hold its own.
With so much personality, this exuberant product is best enjoyed neat. You might consider adding a splash of water to draw out more flavours from the depths of the dram. A beautiful Island whisky at a reasonable price, this is also great in a classic Old Fashioned. Enjoy it on a rainy day as you listen to the storm go by outside. It will warm you inside and out.
Description of Talisker Storm
- Colour: Talisker Storm has a mid-amber colour with golden hues.
- Aroma: Complex bouquet, with creamy notes of banana, window putty, barbecues, and citrus. Spicy notes complete the set of aromas, with a slight white peppery hint.
- Taste: Medium body and a thick sensation invade the palate, with notes of smoky wood, brine, tin, and chilli heat. The finish is full and dry, with spicy red chilli peppers and a hint of ember and oak.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: This is an intense and vibrant whisky released in 2013 as a no age statement spirit. This single malt is carefully aged in selected refill and toasted American oak casks, which provides all the complexity and depth that comes with an island whisky. Only more. More vibrant, more flavour, more smoke, more spice, and a lot more character. Better served with a splash of fresh water in order to bring out all the flavoury notes. Or if you feel a little adventurous, try it in an Old Fashioned cocktail to really enhance the smoke over the sweet chocolate and sugary syrup. Also, Talisker Storm pairs well with a nice dish of smoked salmon, for a more elegant approach.
