You will like to know that...

Nikka Coffey Grain is a 100% Japanese grain whiskey made with the renowned Coffey stills, inside the Miyagikyo distillery. Masataka Taketsuru valued the characteristics of this type of alembic that preserves the flavors of the ingredients and creates a distinctive texture. With a masterly vision, he decided to apply this unique distillation style to his whiskey, achieving something unparalleled. Do exotic whiskeys entice you? This will be your best choice! Through Japanese Nikka whiskey you will appreciate the simplicity and sophistication of an unexpected and delicious taste. In the mouth, it will give you complex, sweet and soft aromas that help you rediscover the beauty of a grain whiskey.

The Nikka Coffey Grain is one of two whiskeys that the Nikka distillery brews with Coffey stills. The name of the still comes from its creator, Eneas Coffey, an Irishman whose stills traveled a long way from Scotland to Japan in the year 1963.

Among Japanese whiskeys, this is undoubtedly a rarity, since it is distilled mainly from corn. It is not a common whiskey: in the mouth, it will be revealed as somewhat exotic, fruity and unique, where you will find final notes of corn, sweet and vibrant. This spirit is the ideal complement for adventurers, those who dare to launch themselves in search of a very unconventional whiskey.

It is no longer the beautiful single casks Nikka Coffey Grain which, for many years, strung collections of La Maison du Whiskey. Some of them are directly entered the pantheon of whiskey. Still very exclusive, Nikka decided to create a permanent version of this whiskey to allow everyone to discover this particular style sweet and charming. Made from a majority of maize from stills "Coffey", that unpublished single grain gives us an overview of grain whiskeys that form the basis of all the blends of the house Nikka. Color: Beautiful gold. Nose: Fresh and seductive at the same time, it reveals sweet notes of ripe pear, cherry juice and exotic fruits. Citrus, blood oranges and lemon, appear to make room for subtle floral notes, flower of apple and cherry trees. On opening it becomes greedy and pastry on the coconut, vanilla bourbon and chouquettes filled with whipped cream. Underlying-to fine touches of mint and musk tip. Palate: Juicy and greedy desire, it holds the promise of the nose. A ripe fruit medley accentuated by free rum notes (banana) and caramel. It becomes more complex on zan, licorice and star anise. The mid-palate is more fruity, dominated by pear nectar and quickly defer to more creamy flavors never dwell. The freshness is everywhere. Final: Equally tasty as the mouth, it grows on pear and vanilla bourbon before fainting on a beautiful and slightly bitter. Profile: Sweet and fruity.

The Coffey Still is the worlds first patented continuous still invented by Mr. Aeneas Coffey in 1830. Masataka Taketsuru valued the feature of this type of still, which retains the flavors of ingredients and also creates a distinctive texture. Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt are Nikkas signature grain whiskies which show the beauty of our Coffey Stills.

NIKKA - Coffey Grain - 45% grain whiskey It was developed at the initiative of La Maison du Whiskey. Aware of the exceptional quality of the single grain produced within Miyagikyo, through a few too rare single cask versions, we suggested in December 2011 to officials at Nikka develop a more accessible version. Nine months later, the Nikka Coffey Grain 45% was born! And the result is up to our expectations. Between Bourbon and Scotch, it can be drunk neat, on ice, lying water, soda or used as a cocktail base particular to achieve a Perfect Manhattan.

The Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey is a whiskey with a delicate and charming style. It enjoys special care because the manufacturing process is the basis of all the blends of the house Nikka. Fragrance: Fresh with exotic fruit notes of cherry blossoms. Taste: Greedy the coconut nuances of bourbon vanilla, mint and a fine touch. No Surprises, Nikka Coffey Grain, keeps its promises: a fine whiskey, fruity, complex and fresh. Many qualities that make an exceptional whiskey will be missed as all the famous Nikka whiskey distillery.

Using the two Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery (named after its inventor Aeneas Coffey - not the flavour!) within the Miyagikyo distillery for the elaboration of its single grain whiskies. Imported from Scotland in 1963, these old stills yield a distillate with more flavour and depth than modern column stills, imparting a distinct character that defines the house blends. These two unique bottlings showcase the innovative spirit of Nikka.

The Coffey Grain Nikka is a Japanese whiskey mainly corn-based, made by continuous distillation in alembic Coffey. Followed by aging for a period not deliberately stated by the distillery. It presents to the eye a brilliant deep amber color. It opens to the nose with sweet scents of vanilla and oriental spices that are enriched with sour orange, curry and cardamom. It has a complex flavor, sweet and mellow, which reports to the sinuous and intriguing Arab atmospheres. It closes on a medium long finish reminiscent of the corn and the aging wood. By virtue of its uniqueness it is able to make any special late evening.
