In 2013, Jameson had the idea of maturing his Whisky in beer barrels. Out of these innovative ideas, the Caskmates Stout Edition was developed, with barrels of Franciscan Well Brewery, in which Stout beer was previously stored.
The Jameson Caskmates Ipa Edition Edition is another symbiosis between the best beer in Ireland and unique whiskey. It is a blended Irish whiskey that matures in casks soaked with Irish Pale Ale. This whiskey captivates with floral nuances and citrus notes of grapefruit and a nutty aroma. The palate reveals hops and soft citrus fruits with notes of sweet herbs and delicate spice.
With the Jameson Caskmates Ipa Edition Edition Jameson has succeeded in creating a perfect combination between whiskey and beer. It can be served pure, on the rocks or in delicious cocktails.

- Appearance: A light amber, similar to the expected Jameson colouring, but a bit darker with an medium orange tint.
- Aroma: The scent is a bouquet of herbal hops, citrus, floral notes, and orchard fruits complemented by oak and a bit nuttiness.
- Taste: Jameson Caskmates Ipa Edition Edition offers a flavour similar to what the aroma suggests. Initial tastes are of hops with a touch of grapefruit citrus and sweeter hints of herb and gentle spicy notes. The lingering smooth finish reveals grains of barely along with fresh fruit.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: Jameson Caskmates Ipa Edition Edition is the second edition of Jameson's line of whiskeys aged in former beer barrels. The product is the result of cooperation between breweries and whiskey makers, creating an Irish-blended whiskey aged in barrels infused with Irish Pale Ale. Eight Degrees Brewing ages their beer in former Jameson whiskey casks then sends these casks back to Jameson, where these beer barrels are used to complete the ageing process. Jameson Caskmates Ipa Edition Edition is a blend comprised of both single grains and single malts originating from multiple distilleries. The original rollout was limited to just 2,000 bottles in Ireland, but a larger release in the US followed in 2017.
