Description of Haig Club Clubman
Haig Club Clubman
TASTING NOTES:
- Colour: A light straw colour.
- Aroma: A mild alcohol scent overlaid with an alluring combination of sweet vanilla, caramel, and custard.
- Taste: Similar to what the aroma suggests, Haig Club Clubman has dessert-like notes of caramel, vanilla, and coconut with an herbal liquorice aftertaste. The whiskey flavour is subtle and mild, making it ideal for mixing with coke or as part of other cocktails that complement its sweet flavours.
PRODUCER: Haig Club.
COUNTRY: Scotland.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Haig Club is a part of Cameronbridge, the largest grain distillery in Europe, and possibly the oldest. The first record of a member of the Haig family creating whiskey dates back to 1655. In 1751, a Haig married a member of the Stein family, another prominent whiskey-making family. In 1824, their youngest son William established Cameronbridge. The company's long history gives it the experience to create quality products and the tradition to ensure passion for excellence.Haig Club Clubman gets its name from 1920s advertisements which promoted Haig and "the clubman's whiskey. Haig Club Clubman is a single-grain scotch whiskey marketed under the brand Haig Club, a cooperation with football star David Beckham. The secret to its rich taste is that it was aged in American oak casks previously filled with bourbon, giving it a sweet and slightly coconutty flavour.
