You will like to know that…

A bottle that's all a mystery! Glenlivet released its Alpha, a limited edition of only 3,350 bottles, in 2013, with only the essential information required by law on the label: no indication of processing, no tasting notes and a black bottle that hides the colour of the whisky it contains. Just a few months after the launch of the product, Master Distiller Alan Winchester said that of Glenlivet was an experiment to stimulate consumers to sharpen their senses. According to Winchester, in fact, only by concentrating sight, smell and taste as much as possible can the complexity of this Single Malt be fully appreciated.

The Glenlivet Distillery is located near Ballindalloch, Moray, and is the oldest legal distillery in the parish of Glenlivet. Founded in 1824, it is not uncommon to hear of its whisky as "the Single Malt that started it all". The distillery remained open even during the Great Depression and it only closed during the Second World War. One can only call it historical!

With his Alpha, Glenlivet invites us to live a multisensory experience... are you ready?

The Glenlivet Distillery

The Glenlivet's story begins in the isolated Livet Valley, where George Smith was illegally distilling his whisky before he even got his licence in 1824. Since then, this Speyside producer has grown to become one of the world's best-selling single malt brands. At the heart of the company's whisky range are products that are famous to lovers of the genre, such as The Glenlivet 12 Years and The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve.
