You will like to know that…
This bottle substitutes the anterior Glenkinchie since 2007, of 10 instead of 12 years. It's a light whiskey with lots of scents, with outstanding notes of fresh cereals, sweet barley and nut. On the palate Glenkinchie 12 Years is fruity with a wooden touch. In summary it's a very soft and light whiskey for those, who like it subtle.
Description of Glenkinchie 12 Year old
Glenkinchie 12 Year old
- Colour: Glenkinchie 12 Year old has a truly lovely, warm, and light golden amber appearance.
- Aroma: A delicate and tantalising nose of almond, barley, beeswax, green apple, hazelnut, and lemon tart.
- Taste: A notably fruity and tasty opening, stewed apples and pears and honey with echoes of grassland and freesias, into a more oaky, dry, and grassy finish of medium length. It may be light but it does not lack substance.
PRODUCER: Glenkinchie Distillery, only fifteen miles from Edinburgh, on the same site since 1825 and with the same name for most of the years since 1837. After some time as a sawmill, the distillery was recommenced in 1887. Because of its proximity to the Scottish capital, it is easy to join one of the distillery's varied and fascinating tours and sample its wares.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: From one of the few Lowland distilleries remaining, Glenkinchie 12 Year old is a lovely example of the genre, reflecting the light and grassy nature of the territory. Lovely before dinner, served in a martini glass with a few drops of water and perhaps some cheese or appetisers, this single malt is also considered a dessert whisky because of its fruity and honeyed qualities. Pair it with a cheesecake or a rich chocolate gateau and taste the truth of this for yourself.
