Elaboration of Glen Elgin 12 Year old Spirit Of Scotland 2000
Glen Elgin 12 Year old Spirit Of Scotland 2000
- Colour: A translucent golden colour.
- Aroma: Rich and tempting scents of malt, espresso, honey, and a touch of smoke.
- Taste: Smooth on the palate with a well-balanced flavour. Sweet notes of honey, vanilla, citrus, buttered popcorn, and sweetened coffee intermingle with savoury touches of barley and oak. The finish is long and smooth with cereal flavours. Can be enjoyed on its own, but its balanced and mild flavour lends itself well to mixing.
PRODUCER: Glen Elgin.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: The Glen Elgin malt whisky distillery was first built in 1898 and 1900 by James Carle and William Simpson in the beautiful "lossie" area of Speyside, Scotland. The distillery is unusual in having an odd number of stills—seven to be exact. The pot stills currently being used at the Glen Elgin distillery were first installed in 1992. Glen Elgin 12 Year old Spirit Of Scotland 2000 is a rare find as it is a single malt scotch and most of Glen Elgin's production goes into blended whisky. Glen Elgin 12 Year old Spirit Of Scotland 2000 was distilled on the 5th of July, 2000, then bottled on the 5th of July, 2012. The 12-year ageing process took place in a single refill hogshead that previously held sherry. It is not chill filtered and has no artificial colouring.
