- Aroma: A rich nose with satisfying wafts of caramel, citrus, maple, orchard fruit, pine nuts, and vanilla.
- Taste: A famously smooth ride from creamy start to lengthy vanilla-tinged finish, with complex notes reminding you of the white oak barrels it so productively resided in for a time. Cherry, chocolate, citrus, and spice make this a deliciously rich tipple.

The recipe has not changed since this delicate blend was created in honour of a visit to Canada by Queen Elizabeth and King George VI.
