Bushmills 10 Year old

  • Colour: Bushmills 10 Year old has a warm, light golden hue.
  • Aroma: A subtle nose of fruit and spice, including a distinct note of flambéed banana.
  • Taste: Notes of chocolate and honey into spicy but light Christmas cake flavours, with a floral and almost mineral finish with evident tannins. Exceptionally smooth and flavoursome, with a light and creamy mouthfeel.

PRODUCER: The Old Bushmills Distillery is located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, and owned by Casa Cuervo of Mexico. Bushmills uses water drawn from a tributary of the nearby River Bush. COUNTRY: United Kingdom

PRODUCTION DETAILS: Winner of Best Irish Single Malt Whiskey at the World Whiskies Awards 2007; of Best Irish Whiskey (Double Gold Medal) at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2009; and beloved globally, Bushmills 10 Year old is perfectly balanced and aged. It is drawn from 100% malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills, then aged in American bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for a minimum of ten years. If you add a drop or two of water, there are lovely flavours of mandarin orange and Greek yoghurt.

Old Bushmills Distillery

Old Bushmills Distillery

Bushmill's history starts in 1608, when King James I. granted Sir Thomas Phillips - landowner and Governor of Antrum - a license to distill. In 1784 the distillery is registered and the Pot Still becomes its trademark. The first big difference adds in the 1850's, when a malt tax is introduced. Because of this tax many distilleries changed their recipes, while Bushmill's didn't. The brand was unstoppable, although many obstacles - such as a big fire, prohibition and World War II - made life hard and decreased or even stopped production for a while.

Para ser un 10 años, su sabor no tiene esa suavidad que quizás cabría esperar de un whisky así, no por ello es malo ni mucho menos.

Whisky Bushmills Malt 10 Years

4 /5

- A product of the world's oldest licensed distillery. Bushmills single malt Irish Whiskey is the original single malt whiskey from Ireland. With an intriguing aroma and well-balanced flavour, Bushmills Malt is a delightfully delicate malt and uncomplicated whiskey crafted from 100% malted barley. Its style is mellow and light, and a time tested drying process assures that the taste of the malt shines through.
- All the malt used in the mash is dried in closed kilns devoid of peat, preventing it from absorbing the fire's smokiness while retaining the malt's distinctive, authentic character and exceptionally clean taste. Bushmills Malt has a sweet spicy aroma with overtones of Oloroso sherry, vanilla and honey.
- It is characterful and complex; mild, but nonetheless has a rich, malty character, not overlaid by any strong peaty/smokey notes so typical of most Scottish malts.
Smooth on the palate with a slightly dry finish.
