- Colour: Bushmills 10 Year old has a warm, light golden hue.
- Aroma: A subtle nose of fruit and spice, including a distinct note of flambéed banana.
- Taste: Notes of chocolate and honey into spicy but light Christmas cake flavours, with a floral and almost mineral finish with evident tannins. Exceptionally smooth and flavoursome, with a light and creamy mouthfeel.
PRODUCER: The Old Bushmills Distillery is located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, and owned by Casa Cuervo of Mexico. Bushmills uses water drawn from a tributary of the nearby River Bush. The oldest licensed distillery on earth, it is also one of the few which produces both single malt and blended whiskey under the same brand.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: Winner of Best Irish Single Malt Whiskey at the World Whiskies Awards 2007; of Best Irish Whiskey (Double Gold Medal) at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2009; and beloved globally, Bushmills 10 Year old is perfectly balanced and aged. It is drawn from 100% malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills, then aged in American bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for a minimum of ten years. If you add a drop or two of water, there are lovely flavours of mandarin orange and Greek yoghurt.
Bushmill's history starts in 1608, when King James I. granted Sir Thomas Phillips - landowner and Governor of Antrum - a license to distill. In 1784 the distillery is registered and the Pot Still becomes its trademark. The first big difference adds in the 1850's, when a malt tax is introduced. Because of this tax many distilleries changed their recipes, while Bushmill's didn't. The brand was unstoppable, although many obstacles - such as a big fire, prohibition and World War II - made life hard and decreased or even stopped production for a while.More about the Producer
