The Bulleit family started out in the world of bourbon back in the 1830s . This is when tavern keeper Augustus Bulleit came up with his own unique recipe for Kentucky bourbon. This new product immediately gained fame and orders for it spread throughout the country. One day, Augustus Bulleit was on his way to deliver an order of his bourbon to New Orleans when he simply disappeared. Neither he nor his bourbon was ever seen again. That is, until 1987 when his descendant, Tom Bulleit, brought back his great-great-grandfather's long-lost recipe by launching his own brand of bourbon.
Bulleit Rye is a delicious spin on the already fantastic Bulleit Bourbon. First released in 2011, this release is specially made for all of the rye lovers out there in the whiskey world. The mashbill for this bourbon calls for 95% rye with just 5% malted barley to fill out the background flavour. Made in small batches in order to ensure the quality, this dazzling rye bourbon lives up to the Bulleit name.

PRODUCER: Buillet. The distillery was founded by Tom Bulleit in 1987 and inspired by the family recipe from his great great grandfather Augustus Bulleit, he began making whiskey senior. Before he died, Tom left a successful law firm and risked everything to turn your whiskey into a success. In recent years, Bulleit Rye it is produced by the Distillery Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg (Kentucky) for the beverage conglomerate Diageo. It was relaunched in 2011 and still continues to enjoy recognition as one of the hundred best quality available.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: The Bulleit Rye is distilled and aged in the tradition of the Bulleit family. It is made with 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Its high content of rye gives it a bold and spicy character with a clean, smooth finish. Filtered water with lime Kentucky provides a basis for the character of bourbon. It is aged at least six years in American oak barrels charred that provides the light smoky whiskey. It is bottled at 45% abv (90 degrees) to markets in the United States, Canada, Britain, Mexico and the Netherlands. For Danish and Australian market is bottled at 40% vol.
