TASTING NOTES OF Bruichladdich Octomore 6.1 Scottish Barley 2008:
- Color: citric autumn sun.
- Flavour: a combination of sea spray, foam, wet seaweeds and fatty touches iodine. Then the smoke from the peat ground black pepper, imposing notes of heather flowers, lemon balm and mint water.
- Taste: crisp, malted barley, sweet oak, vanilla, toasted rye bread and nuts, a burst of fresh lime, apple and pear poached distillation, deep marine notes.

Bruichladdich is situated on the Western Isles – Oirthir Gaidheal, the Coast of the Gaels, the land of the outsider. The raw ingredients are paramount. 100% Scottish barley is used as they believe it's called "Scotch" for a reason. It is the mayor distiller of organic barley in Scotland and they have been instrumental in support for organic farming in the single malt category. The water comes from farmer and friend James Brown’s Octomore farm up on the hill behind the Port Charlotte warehouse as they believe in community.
