Aberlour 16 Year old Double Cask

This is a brilliant addition to the Aberlour range. The age statement may say 16 year old but when it touches your palate it suggests a much older age. Layers of complex flavours develop with every second, thanks to it being double cask matured.

Aberlour 16 Years Double Cask Matured

Aberlour 16 years Double Cask content: 0.7 liters 43% vol. With dye Tasting Notes: Sherry sweetness, wood and fruit notes. Milder finish with honey. Information James Gordon and Peter Weir founded the still only 14 years after the start of construction of the city. That was in 1826. Located at the foot of the mountain Ben Rinne, close to the banks of the river lies the village of Lour and the distillery of Aberlour. 1879 had to be rebuilt because of a fire the distillery. Quite often the distillery fire was afflicted, and the inhabitants of the village had to bring the barrels to safety. Major renovation has been both 1945 and 1973. Aberlour Today is owned by Campbell Distillers Ltd.. Belonging to the group Pernod Ricard. This explains why a large number of whiskey is sold to France.

Aberlour 16 Years Double Cask Matured


  • Color: beautiful honey color well marked and very high tone, you can see beautiful flashes of bright golden color that bring light to this whiskey.
  • Aroma: intense aromas very marked with floral notes and plums. It is also possible to perceive smoked and toasted notes product of its production and aging.
  • Taste: delicious, very exquisite and elegant, fills the palate. nice and very sharp end.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: matured into two types of barrels, the barrels traditional oak and sherry and bottled at a volume slightly less than 40% than previous editions, this Aberlour 16 years is full of lush plums, raisins and even floral notes. Speyside malt fracture.
