Aberlour 12 Years
You will like to know that…
Aberlour 12 Years is a whisky produced by the distillery of the same name. Aberlour was founded in 1826 by two entrepreneurs, Peter Wier and James Gordon. The original distillery was later destroyed in a fire and rebuilt by James Fleming in 1879. It is located in the Speyside region, Scotland. Throughout its history, it has been sold several times to various commercial groups. Since 1975, with the acquisition of Distilleria Campbell, it has been part of the French group Pernod Ricard. Aberlour boasts a unique range of high quality malt whiskies.
Aberlour 12 Years ages in the best casks of Sherry Oloroso and in hand-selected American oak casks. This process gives the whisky many of its exceptional organoleptic characteristics: visually it has a golden amber color with a hint of ruby red; the nose reveals fruity notes of red apple; the palate is warm and wonderfully balanced. It has a long, persistent, sweet and very spicy finish. Excellent to be enjoyed smooth or with ice.
The production of Aberlour is strongly influenced by its water source, which comes from exceptionally pure springs. The springs flow along the Ben Rinnes, a 20km² mountain in Banffshire, in northern Scotland. This area is surrounded by a beautiful and almost dramatic landscape and has a rich and incredibly diverse ecosystem.
