Nicolodi Schiava Nera 2016 (Schiava Grossa)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Deep red with some violet hues.
  • Nose: strong scent of ripe fruit, accompanied by a subtle trace of red flowers is perceived. It evokes the forest, for its herbal touch.
  • Mouth: It has a good body, delicate yet powerful, balanced in every way. The finish is long, pleasant, fruity and very fresh.

APPELLATION: Vigneti delle Dolomiti.

VINEYARD: Nicolodi Alfio.

GRAPES: Schiava Grossa.

AGEING: 5 months in steel tanks.

PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested in small boxes during the month of October, and then run it through a quality control that will select the best. They will take place despalillarán and gently pressed to subsequent cold maceration. 20 days are left in the skin and then placed in stainless steel tanks, controlled temperature, for 5 months. Temperatures are between 20 and 24ºC. Finally, it clarified and bottled, but before leaving the market, remains settled a month.

PAIRING: game, roasts, some pastas, cheeses strong flavors, other meats, spicy dishes.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C

I recommend to pair it with "Pinchos" or "Tapas". I found it at a wine tasting.
Reddish towards brown colour. A tender berry smell. I noticed a kind of salty aftertaste in the finish.
