You will like to know that…
Zubrówka is a Polish vodka with a unique taste distilled from bison grass and careful production. What makes it so special? Precisely the fact that it is distilled from bison grass, an ingredient that gives this vodka a very particular touch of vanilla. In addition, it is a herb that comes exclusively from the Bialowieza forest, in a place so remote that it is known only by a few families - who, moreover, pass the secret from generation to generation.
It is first harvested, then dried and then sent to the Bialystock distillery in the north-east of the country, where it will finish drying and go through the infusion and bottling process.
To enjoy this vodka more, drink it with apple juice, as recommended by the brand itself. It is the perfect serve of a vodka that will not leave you indifferent.
Description of Zubrówka Vodka 1L
Zubrówka Vodka 1L
- Colour: This vodka looks a bit foggier than most. Still, it is mostly clear. Inside the bottle is a single blade of bison grass, from which the drink is made from. This gives it a unique presentation that makes it truly memorable.
- Aroma: While most vodkas have a simple alcohol scent, this one has much more! Hits of pinenuts and grass earth scents add character to each glass.
- Taste: Made from bison grass, native to Poland, this drink is sweeter than most would expect. Because of this, it goes down smoothly and has a long finish. However, because of its average alcohol content, some novice drinkers may still experience a slight burning sensation in the back of the throat.
PRODUCER: Bison grass vodka has been made in Poland for hundreds of years, likely since the 1500s. However, it was not until the last couple hundred years that it left Poland. This drink is made by Polmos Bialysok, which is the Polish brand name. In Belarus is it known as Belalco, Bulbash, and Minsk Kristall. As of 2013, the company is owned by Roust International.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Believe it or not, each blade of bison grass used in this drink is picked by hand. The grass is sourced from the Bialowieza Forest in Poland. The grass is then dried naturally before being used to make this beverage. Other fruits and herbal flavours are then added.
Żubrówka, pronounced “zoo-BROV-ka”, may just be the most famous brand of Polish vodka in the world. With the iconic bison on the label, it is hard to miss seeing a bottle of this vodka when on display. Named after the grass eaten by the bison in the Białowieża Forest area where the vodka is made, this unique brand of vodka is now over 600 years old.More about the Producer
