PRODUCER: Cognac Ferrand underwent a revolution over thirty years ago, when Alexandre Gabriel became owner of the venerable cognac-producing chateau, Maison Ferrand. He was the first individual ever to be recognized for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Distilling', by the Craft Distilling Expo 2017. Ever enterprising, Gabriel saw a French legal requirement that his stills produce cognac for only five months each year as an opportunity, and won permission to use them in other months to craft incredible and unique spirits, such as artisanal gins, instead.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Vodka Citadelle 6C is distilled cask by cask, one cask at a time. Divine wheat from the Beauce region southwest of Paris is distilled in tiny ‘alambic charentais', or copper pot stills, an incredible six times, then charcoal-filtered exhaustively. This is therefore a remarkably smooth and subtle vodka, which makes it fit for sipping as well as making your favourite long drinks and cocktails extra special. And if the contents weren't wonderful enough, they come in a gorgeous diamond-cut bottle which will look splendid on your shelf, though probably not for long.
Cognac Ferrand is the result of the encounter in 1989 between Alexandre Gabriel and one of the oldest winegrowing families in the Cognac region. Alexandre Gabriel’s intention was to breathe new life into Cognac Ferrand and make it the world’s best cognac. He wanted to maintain age-old, craft-based production methods which were worlds apart from mass production techniques, and sought to bring back to market the true expression of Grande Champagne’s – known as Cognac’s finest region – great terroir.More about the Producer
