Eristoff 1L is one of the most popular vodkas in the UK. This vodka is recognizable among thousands of people thanks to the blue label decorated with the head of a wolf howling at the moon. This vodka has the name of Prince Ivane Eristoff of Georgia and the logo of the wolf, reminiscent of Georgia's Persian name, Virshan, "the land of wolves". But that is not all, the other peculiarity of this vodka Eristoff 1L is its alcohol content of 37.5%. Most vodkas have 40% by volume.
Description of Eristoff 1L
- Colour: This drink is totally clear.
- Aroma: A crisp aroma of a pure alcoholic scent fills the air as soon as this bottle is opened. Without added frills, this drink smells simple and clean.
- Taste: With its average alcohol content, this drink is likely to taste something like diluted rubbing alcohol. Expect a burn at the back of the throat if using this drink to take shots. If using as a shot, it is best followed by a sweet chaser. Otherwise, this vodka tastes best when it is mixed with soda or juice.
PRODUCER: The recipe for this vodka was first made in 1806 by Ivane Eristoff. The family passed down the recipe for generations before producing it on a mass scale and selling it. While the family still held the rights to the recipe, they make the alcohol in Georgia, Russia, and Serbia, as the family moved often. However, the brand itself holds tight to its Georgian heritage. Currently, the Bacardi group owns the rights to the Eristoff brand.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Grains are used to make this drink. The grain is distilled and mixed with demineralized water. Later, the drink is filtered through charcoal to remove any impurities. Finally, the drink is bottled.
The Bacardi Limited story is a peculiar one. Indeed, when Facundo Bacardí Massó left the little town of Sitges, Catalonia, at the beginning of the 19th century, little did he know that he would end up creating one of the largest spirits company in the world.More about the Winery
