Blavod Black Vodka
You will like to know that…
Blavod Black Vodka is made by The Original Black Vodka Co LTD. As a triple-distilled grain vodka, its smooth taste helps it stand out among its fellow premium vodkas. The distilled vodka is then subtly infused with black catechu, extracted from the bark of the acacia tree, which imparts its trademark black colour. It must be noted that this change in hue does not make Blavod a flavoured vodka. It tastes the same as its clear brethren, but with a slightly herbal finish.
Blavod Black Vodka is a unique vodka whose dramatic color is sure to turn any drink into a stylish and sophisticated eye-catcher. Because it is naturally coloured, Blavod is a dark blackberry hue rather than the opaque black you would expect from a falsely coloured beverage. While obviously more popular around Halloween, you can use it year-round to add an extra depth of flavour to classic cocktails as well as changing their look into something unexpected and exciting.
As they say at Blavod, "Refuse to be ordinary." Drink it on the rocks. Add it to your cocktails. Use it to make layered drinks. This is the little black dress of vodkas. Pair it with dark, nutty bread, smoked or salted fish, pickled vegetables, and fatty meats.
Description of Blavod Black Vodka
Blavod Black Vodka
- Colour: Blavod Black Vodka has a dark but clear blackberry hue in the bottle, rather than a truly black appearance, but appears black when used in beverages.
- Aroma: A mildly bourbon scent is enhanced by subtle floral, sweet citrus, vanilla, and woody notes.
- Taste: Enjoyably grainy on entry but smooth as silk in the finish, with undertones of dark berries and echoes of anise, clove, and red peppercorns.
PRODUCER: Blavod Drinks Ltd, owned by Distil Plc, a British spirits company that also produces and distributes rum and gin. Blavod Black Vodka was introduced to the market in 1998.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: The heartwood of the acacia tree in Burma, South East Asia produces an extract called Black Catechu. As a flavourless element, catechu does not interfere with the quality of the spirit with which it is mixed, and is non-staining. Blavod has infused this into premium triple distilled grain vodka, crafting the world's first black vodka, produced in Germany. Anyone with an interest in mixology and who enjoys a truly smooth vodka will delight in finding new ways to use this stylish and dramatic spirit to craft altogether new drink experiences, including layered beverages and Halloween-themed novelties.
ALCOHOL: 40% / 37.5% in the UK
