You will like to know that…
This fresh Portuguese white wine has its roots in the famous wine region Vinho Verde, the so-called "green wine", in the north of Portugal. The term green refers in this context, however, more likely to the beautiful and by the high precipitation in the year much greener landscape than the colour of the originating from this region wine. Here, between the rivers, Douro and Minho, both white, red and rose grape varieties are cultivated and further processed into the quality wines that are characteristic of this region.
The varieties Azal, Pedernã, Trajadura and Loureiro give this Casal Mendes Branco its sparkling and light character. Its pale citrus-yellow appearance emits a fruity aroma with soft tropical fruit flavours. On the palate, this sparkling yet elegant white wine unfolds a light and refreshing acidity. A unique taste experience, crowned by a soft sweet finish. Its fruity and fresh notes, accompanied by fish dishes, salads and seafood, are best served when served between 8 - 10 ° C.
The excellent quality of this refreshing Casal Mendes Branco also testifies to various international awards. In 2017, this white wine won the silver award at the Sakura Japan Women's Wine Award, also silver and a 3-star rating with "Very Good" in the Gourmet Magazine selection, and it also received the Bronze Award at the Decanter Asia Wine Award.

Aliança was founded in 1927 under Domingos Silva and Ângelo Neves' leadership. The winery is located in Sangalhos, Anadia county, in the Bairrada region (between Coimbra and Porto). Characteristic of the region is the Atlantic ocean proximity and the ensuing maritime winds blowing the on the flatland and the regular rainfall. This does not prevent the local cellars to elaborate great wines in Portugal's most prominent wine region.More about the Winery
