Sandro Fay Valtellina Superiore Valgella Carteria Riserva 2016 (Nebbiolo)

TASTING NOTES:

VINEYARD: vineyards, terraced and located at an altitude of 500 meters or more, are very difficult to grow, so this viticulture is sometimes defined as heroic. The extreme height of this area and strong variations in temperature between day and night are able to characterize these wines, giving a great elegance and finesse.

GRAPES: Nebbiolo 100%.

AGING subsequently wine moved partly barrels 30 hl and partly oak barrels of 500 liters where malolactic fermentation is performed and then remains in aged for at the least 12 months, before bottling.

PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested by hand with a late harvest in mid-October and carefully selected, crushed and de-stemmed upon arrival at the winery. The vinification process thus continues alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks for about 14 days with maceration in the skins for 6 days.
