Terracing is the characteristic element of the territory. This system is identified with the realization of a myriad of dry stone walls that support the vines ronchi built several millennia ago to allow the cultivation. The soil, sandy loam, is predisposed to drought as it has very low water retention and is very permeable. The shallow soils have a workable area ranging from 40 to 120 cm and it is not uncommon to see the screw that the root sticking directly into the slot of the rock.
