Valpolicella Classico Superiore Zenato 2018 (Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Sangiovese)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: ruby ​​red.
  • Nose: fine nose with hints of berries and cherry.
  • Boca: good structure with a velvety tannin and a tasty and persistent.

APPELLATION: Valpolicella Classico Superiore.

GRAPES: 80% Corvina Veronese, 10% Rondinella, 10% Sangiovese.

AGEING: Aged in oak barrels for 12 months esalvo.

PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October and taken to the winery for despalillarlas and vinificarlas. The crushed grapes are transported in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature for alcoholic fermentation which lasts approximately 6/7 days, the contact between the skins and the wine is kept even after fermentation for transferring phenolic and aroma compounds.

WINE PAIRING: Red meat dishes grilled, stewed, also a good combination with seasoned cheese.

Il Valplicella classico Superiore di Zenato,viene prodotto a partire da una base di uve autoctone della tradizione,come Corvina e Rondinella. Morbido,ma non per questo carente in struttura, richama le mandorle e la viola. Un vino fragrante,molto legato al terroir dove si sviluppa,nel sud del lago di garda. Vino che non delude le aspettative, è di pronta beva ma lasciarlo in cantina qualche anno potrebbe dargli quel qualcosa in più,senza esagerare con l'attesa.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Zenato is produced with native grapes of Valpolicella and a small addition of Sangiovese. The grapes are harvested during the first decade of October and taken to the cellar for de-stemming and vinification. The grapes are conveyed into temperature controlled stainless steel vats for the alcoholic fermentation which takes about 6-7 days, the contact between the skins and the wine is retained even after fermentation for the extraction of phenolic compounds and aromas. After this stage the wine is separated from the skins and place in Slavonian oak for 12 months before blending and bottling.
