Umbria Rosso San Giorgio Lungarotti was born in vineyards located in Torgiano, in the heart of Umbria. The label shows St. George and the Dragon, image taken from the famous painting by Raphael, made in honor of the traditional feast of Saint George of Torgiano. It is produced at 50% with Cabernet Sauvignon, to 40% with Sangiovese and 10% with Canaiolo grapes, harvested during the second half of September. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with maceration of the skins for 15-20 days. Then the wine is aged in barriques for 12 months, and for a further period in the bottle. It is characterized by a ruby red color, with intense violet hues. The nose opens with a wide and complex bouquet, with fruity, spicy notes enriched from pleasant and delicate balsamic nuances. The palate is fruity, with a powerful structure and thick and warm tannins. The wine has a long and slightly cool. Perfect for roasts and game, is ideal in combination with cheeses.

I tasted at an organized wine tasting.
Red intense cherry colour and very high layer. The main aromas were coffee and wood. I think it was correct.
I'd like to try it with a carpaccio.

I had it with a birthday cake. Is the that my parents like best.
Red intense cherry colour and high layer. Smells like cedar wood or pine tree. A red fairly astringent.
