Discover More About Our Products

Bramito comes from the vineyards of the historic Castello della Sala, owned by the Antinori family in Umbria, about 18 kilometres from the city of Orvieto. Here the Chardonnay enjoys a special terroir, characterised by cool temperatures and soil composed of fossil sediments with clay infiltration, which gives the finished wines a distinct minerality and elegance.

The first vintage of Bramito was 1994. It is a delicately scented wine, with delicious notes of ripe exotic fruit and fresh citrus memories. In the mouth, however, it reveals a certain structure, lightened by a nice freshness and a pleasant, savoury finish.

Excellent with vegetable first courses and stewed white meats.

A story passed down through 26 generations

All throughout its history, twenty-six generations long, the Antinori family has managed the business directly making innovative and sometimes bold decisions while upholding the utmost respect for traditions and the environment.
Today, Albiera Antinori is the president of Marchesi Antinori with the continuous close support of her two sisters, Allegra and Alessia, all actively involved in first person in the business. Their father, Marchese Piero Antinori, is the current Honorary President of the company. Tradition, passion, and intuition are the three driving forces that led Marchesi Antinori to establish itself as one of the most important winemakers of elite Italian wine.
Ancient family roots
Each vintage, each plot of land, each new idea to be advanced is a new beginning, a new pursuit for achieving higher quality standards. As Marchese Piero loves to say: Ancient family roots play an important part in our philosophy but they have never hindered our innovative spirit.

Bramito is produced from the vineyards surrounding the medieval castle at Castello della Sala. One variety that thrives in this terroir is Chardonnay. The vineyards are on soils rich in fossil deposits with veins of clay that give the wine minerality and elegance.

Castello della Sala
Castello della Sala is located in the Umbria region, not far from the Tuscan border, about 18 kilometers from the historic city of Orvieto. The Medieval castle's property extends over an area of 500 hectares (1235 acres), 170 hectares (420 acres) are planted with vineyards at an altitude that varies between 220 and 470 meters above sea level (722/1541 feet) on the gently rolling hillsides that characterize the beautiful countryside in this area. Castello della Sala is the perfect place for growing white varieties. The vines grow in clay and calcareous based soils, rich in fossil shells, and they are well exposed to the rising of the sun with an excellent difference of temperature between day and night. The one exception to the rule is Pinot Noir, the only red variety that has found in this area ideal growing conditions to best express its full potential.

Grapes were brought to the cellar, destemmed and gently crushed. The must and the skins were chilled to a temperature of 10 ºC (50 ºF) and transferred to stainless steel tanks for a short period of maceration, approximately 2-4 hours, in order to enhance flavors and extract the grape variety's aromatic profile. The different lots were treated separately, some went into oak and some into stainless steel vats where alcoholic fermentation occurred at a controlled temperature of di 16-18 ºC (61-64 ºF); only the oak fermented lots underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was then blended and bottled.
