APPELLATION: Tuscany

VINEYARD: This Monteverro 2011 takes its name from the winery of the same name owned property and Julia Georg Weber, who produce with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, in different percentages. The vineyards cover the hills that descend to the Tyrrhenian coast. We are in the Maremma Tuscany, near Capalbio. Terroir is clay and rich in minerals and temperate microclimate factors which give the typical structure grapes.

GRAPES: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc 30%, 25%, 5% Merlot Petit Verdot.

AGEING: The wine is racked into French oak barrels for a maturing period of at least 24 months before being bottled.

PREPARATION: The Monteverro 2011 is produced in limited quantities. As well as the grape harvest, including winemaking process is conducted separately, parcel by parcel. The grapes are then collected manually and taken to the winery for a delicate pressing. In the fermentation phase, the wort is subjected to manual fulling, which was stirred with feces, to facilitate aeration of the must and the multiplication of active enzymes.

PAIRING: Perfect with dishes of red and white meats, especially cheeses and meats.

I didn't hesitate to buy this wine at Uvinum, everything was very easy.
Attractive cherry red with a low layer . Scents of roses and white flowers. This has harmonious aromas.

We tested it in a dinner Party.
I was impressed by its colour. It smells toasty. Softer than 2014.
I had it with a birthday cake.

A Tuscany is better to be discovered alone.
Opaque red. A tender berry smell. The Monteverro is a well-bodied wine.
We had it with snacks.
