Description of Catena Tupungato Chardonnay
Catena Tupungato Chardonnay (Chardonnay)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: delicate green, light yellow.
- Nose: aroma of white peaches and fresh pineapple, jasmine and magnolia.
- Mouth: beautiful pear and citrus flavors, fresh and crisp minerality. Tangible feeling rich, but clean and fresh at the end.
APPELLATION: Tupungato.
VINES: vineyard Tupungato (1450 m). Soil of alluvial origin, composed of gravel and calcium carbonate. Large oval stones in depth.
GRAPES: 100% Chardonnay.
AGEING: 9 months on lees. 100% French oak.
PREPARATION: cold maceration for 12 hours at 5 ° C. Fermentation for 25 days. Maceration post fermentation 6 hours.
WINE PAIRING: pork, blue fish, vegetarian and poultry.
ALCOHOL: 13.5%

In 1994, Nicolas and his team were confident they had identified the best lots for growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. First, Jose Galante, winemaker since 1975, bottling a small cut grapes from the oldest and most uniform batches of Uxmal vineyard (which later was called because of its location Agrelo vineyard in the district of Agrelo). 300 cases were divided wine Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon.
