Description of Cointreau Blood Orange
Cointreau Blood Orange
TASTING NOTES:
- Colour: A bright scarlet red.
- Aroma: A rich aroma of tangy citrus zest, sweet orange marmalade, and a bit of floral.
- Taste: Clean and refreshing on the palate with a taste beautifully balanced between bitter and sweet. Juicy fruit flavours of ripe orange are perfectly sharpened with an edge of citric acidity.
PRODUCER: Cointreau. French distiller Edouard Cointreau created in 1875 to make the most of consumers' interest in products using oranges, a scarce commodity at the time. Cointreau experimented and travelled the world before finally settling on the perfect recipe. Today, Cointreau Blood Orange is a staple in bars around the world.
COUNTRY: France.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Cointreau Blood Orange is created by infusing the distilling the blood orange peels grown on the French island of Corsica. The fruit is picked at the moment when the peels have the highest concentration of oils to ensure that the final product has rich and expressive citrus notes. Cointreau Blood Orange is excellent chilled straight, or in a citrusy cocktail such as a blood orange mimosa with fresh squeezed fruit juice, a splash of champagne or dry sparkling wine, and a blood orange garnish. Cointreau also recommends the Cointreau Rouge with one part Cointreau Blood Orange, two parts cranberry juice, and ice.
ALCOHOL: 30%
