Vega Sicilia, the most famous winery in Spain both nationally and internationally, decided to make a wine with all its know-how in one of the D.O with more potential of Castilla y Léon, Toro. Thus, Pintia was born: a powerful and elegant wine, prepared with all the care and experience of the Vega Sicilia group (Valbuena, Unico, Alión, Macán, Oremus).
Pintia 2014 reveals generous and velvety tannins. It's a great wine that has been recognized on more than one occasion by the most important critic in the world, Robert Parker, who defines it as "extremely aromatic, expressive, and open, very typical of Toro and a great vintage for Pintia". Although it is very young, you can save this 2014 vintage for years before enjoying it.

How to serve
In 1995 and 1996 we started to think of a new winery and in the locations in Spain where it could be set up. Castilla y León has a large river, the Duero, which is where our two existing wineries, Vega Sicilia and Alion are located, and it flows into another great wine-producing region, Oporto. The region of Toro is not far from us 100 km away along the same river. It has been a famous wine-producing region for centuries and has enjoyed great prestige during important eras of its life.More about the Winery
