Matsu el Viejo 2016 (Tinta de Toro)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Deep cherry red, high layer, violet notes on the edge.
  • Nose: high intensity, aromas of ripe black fruit, well integrated with toasted notes, spices and smoked.
  • Mouth: stout and fleshy. Long lingering aftertaste, ripe fruit and roast the barrel.

APPELLATION: Toro.

VINEYARD: selection of ancient vineyards of extremely limited production. ancient vineyards. sandy soils and sediments formed by sandstones, clays and limestone pudingas Pliocene.

GRAPES: 100% Tinta de Toro.

AGEING: 16 months in new French oak barrels.

PREPARATION: fermentation and maceration 3 weeks deposits 15,000 kg. malolactic fermentation in tanks. Wine without filtering process and clarified without using aggressive processes.

15% alcoholic grade Vol.

Selection vineyards centenarians very low production vineyards, cultivated using biodynamic techniques.

Handpicked vintage performing during the first half of October.

Elaboration Fermentation and maceration for 3 weeks in concrete tanks 10. 000 kg. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels, like raising 16 months. This wine has not been filtered and clarified without using invasive procedures.

Tasting notes Deep cherry red color, high layer with violet notes on the edge. Great aromatic intensity, with aromas of ripe black fruit, well integrated with toasted notes, spicy and smoky oak. The palate is big and fleshy with ripe and round tannins that make sweet. The aftertaste is long and persistent, they appear again notes of ripe fruit and well assembled with wood torrefacto.

- Tasting notes: Intense and powerful deep red color with violet tones. Clean and bright. Teardrop dense and uniform ink cup. High aromatic intensity, with aromas of ripe black fruit, well integrated with toasty notes, spicy and smoky oak. Subtle balsamic notes bring freshness to the whole. It is a red wine palate is stout and fleshy. Palate develops a very concentrated fruit and balsamic sensations. It has very ripe and round tannins well compensated by a deep acidity that make it sweet. long finish with a spicy, smoky aftertaste.
