Description of Flor de Vetus 2013

Flor de Vetus 2013 (Tempranillo and Tinta de Toro)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Color is deep cherry cherry with purple trim.
  • Nose: medium intensity - high, with aromas of red and ripe black fruit mixed with spicy notes of licorice and milk with background caramel and hints of toast and coffee.
  • Mouth: It is powerful, warm, fresh, round, sweet and soft tannins, with flavors of underbrush, hints of pepper and hints of liquorice. Final long, fragrant, nice and clean.

APPELLATION: Toro

VINEYARD: Bodegas Vetus.

GRAPES: Tinta de Toro.

AGEING: The aging process is performed for a period of nine months in 50% French oak and 50% American oak, the new half and half sophomores. After aging is filtered and bottled without clarification or cold stabilization.

PREPARATION: The varietal is harvested manually in boxes of 15 kilograms, moving to cluster sorting table at the winery. After this painstaking process, the grapes are subjected to partial stemming and crushing before starting alcoholic fermentation, which is carried out in stainless steel piston passage. Malolactic fermentation is performed in stainless steel tanks.

PAIRING: Red grilled, braised, roasted, boiled, grilled lamb, beef and vegetables Carnes.

TEMPERATURE SERVICE RECOMMENDED: 16 ° C

The colour was rather dark red. Toffee notes can be appreciated.I think it was a little bit salty.
