If I remember correctly, the 'blend' 4-varieties of this Absum 2008 is distributed as follows (as put in the bottle):
- Tempranillo: 50%
- Merlot: 35%
- Cabernet Sauvignon: 10%
- And Syrah: 5%

We loved the whole family this red Somontano thatfrancescfc (my brother) brought home yesterday to accompany the "Escudella i carn d'olla" that preparedlaurags. He bought directly at Bodegas Irius, where they did a tasting of the same Absum Varietales, 2008.

Red wine pillory intense and bright. Purple welt on his youth. With abundant tears and shaking the cup color.
Much fragrance and intensity from the bottle. With notes of barrel aging in oloroso attack, then dominated by black fruit (berries), but everything is joined together. Fruit and perfectly assembled and accompanied by spicy notes and balsamic wood. Complex wine.
The palate is balanced despite his youth. Very well structured, with a round tannin. Leave a warm feeling at the end. A round wine.

Absum Varietales 2008 has been aged on its lees in new French oak barrels for a period of 8 months.
Highly recommended, and more for your money!
