Mountain 2015 (Muscat of Alexandria)
- View: cherry red color with purple tints.
- Nose: Aromatic notes of ripe red fruits; cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, currants. With hints of licorice, vanilla, chocolate and balsamic.
- Mouth: Intense flavor of tannins, with a properly balanced acidity and an aftertaste of wood and vanilla on the palate. Its texture is silky and has fruity reminiscences.
APPELLATION: Red Mountain.
VINEYARD: Hedges Family Estate.
GRAPES: Souzao, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cao.
AGEING: This wine is aged 9 months in American oak barrels toast.
PREPARATION: The grapes are pressed and macerated at warm temperatures for one month, then the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures and the use of natural yeast. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 9 months toast before stabilizing and bottled unfiltered.
WINE PAIRING: Roasted red meats, stews, game birds, lamb, pork chops, sausages, sauteed vegetables, mushroom risottos, pastas with red sauces, mature cheeses.
RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SERVICE: 16-18 ° C
In 1994, Pablo Eguzkiza and Telmo Rodríguez along with a third winemaker make wine from Grenache from old vines in glass of Navarre. The wine is called 'Alma' ('Soul' in English). These were the beginnings of a winery, which originally was called 'Compañía de Vinos de La Granja' (in Englisch 'The Wine Company from the Farm').
