TASTING NOTES:

  • View: rich bright golden color.
  • Nose: balance of Mediterranean fragrances and extraordinarily elegant floral aromas.
  • Mouth: aromatic notes of honey, orange blossom and citronella scents of dates and orange peel, a real joy for the senses, with freshness and acidity support.

APPELLATION: Passito Sicily.

VINEYARD: Terroir: Mountainous. Floors: intermediate mixture, mainly clay. Exposure: West (240 to 400 meters above sea level).

GRAPES: Zibibbo.

PREPARATION: for the vinification of this prestigious label Firriato employs a method infusion dry grapes adds directly to the wine; This is absolutely unique in the field of Italian winemaking. The garden 'raisins' in Borgo Guarini forms the backdrop for this unique process. The sun and wind define climate farm, and their combined action determines the natural process of drying of the grapes for about 40 days. The slow drying process favors the concentration of fragrance in each grape Mediterranean scrub. Citrus flower honey, candied orange peel, dried figs, dates and peaches in syrup! The philosophy of Casa Vinicola Firriato is to develop indigenous grape varieties in conjunction with international wine making techniques in Sicilian conditions. Grapes: Zibibbo and a small amount of Malvasia Region: Italy / Sicily / Trapani, Guarini estate Maker: Giovanni Manzo Notes: An intense golden yellow colour, with an amber glow and fine aromas of citrus flower honey, candied orange peel, dried figs, dates and peaches in syrup, in perfect harmony with the delicate scents of bay leaf, lemongrass, marjoram, sage, oregano and oriental spices. An enchanting texture that unfolds almost in a whisper, with the class of its noble heritage; an expression of Sicily s warm sun, enriched and caressed by subtle yet deep nuances of the sea and fruit that are both endearing and exciting. Serve: At 10-12c with an apple and raisin strudel, creme brulee, a mille-feuille with vanilla mousse or a wonderful orange tart with lavender ice cream. Also excellent served with foie gras and full-flavoured blue-veined cheeses. ABV: 14%
