The rich lands of Sicily, Italy have been producing wines for more than 2500 years. In 2001, the Sicilian company of Cusumano was founded by two brothers who took their father's small domestic winery and transformed it into a global name, now exporting its wines to more than 60 countries worldwide. With more than 400 hectares of vines all over Sicily, the company is able to offer excellent expressions of all of the grapes. Cusumano Catarratto Sicilia Bianco is one excellent wine from the company's extensive portfolio of wines. Catarratto is a native Sicilian grape that is known for making light wines that are easy to drink. In the hands of Cusumano, this grape becomes juicy and elegant wine with definite citrus notes.

Cusumano Catarratto Sicilia Bianco
- View: A pale straw yellow with green highlights.
- Nose: A subtly aromatic bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits that hints towards a bright acidity.
- Mouth: Light and breezy on the palate with a pleasant and somewhat tropical flavour. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and crisp green apple ease into a pleasantly acidic finish with a subtly saline aftertaste.
VINEYARD: Cusumano. Located in the beautiful island of Sicily, Italy. This region is well-known for producing incredible wines because of its abundant sunshine as well as wet winters. The Catarratto grapes were planted with a density of 4500 plants per hectare with a yield of 65 hectolitres per hectare. Catarratto is a grape variety indigenous to this region and fares beautifully in the Mediterranean climate.
AGEING: Matured on the lees in steel tanks followed by bottle aging
PREPARATION: The grapes were cold macerated on the skins at a controlled temperature of 8°C for about 8 hours, and then were gently pressed.
The juice was then decanted and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18° to 20°C.
PAIRING: Roasted chicken, turkey, duck, fish and other sea food, various Mexican cuisine seasoned with lime.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 8-9ºC
