Cusumano Catarratto Sicilia Bianco

  • View: A pale straw yellow with green highlights.
  • Nose: A subtly aromatic bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits that hints towards a bright acidity.
  • Mouth: Light and breezy on the palate with a pleasant and somewhat tropical flavour. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and crisp green apple ease into a pleasantly acidic finish with a subtly saline aftertaste.

VINEYARD: Cusumano. Located in the beautiful island of Sicily, Italy. This region is well-known for producing incredible wines because of its abundant sunshine as well as wet winters. The Catarratto grapes were planted with a density of 4500 plants per hectare with a yield of 65 hectolitres per hectare. Catarratto is a grape variety indigenous to this region and fares beautifully in the Mediterranean climate.

GRAPES: Catarratto.

AGEING: Matured on the lees in steel tanks followed by bottle aging

PREPARATION: The grapes were cold macerated on the skins at a controlled temperature of 8°C for about 8 hours, and then were gently pressed.

The juice was then decanted and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18° to 20°C.

PAIRING: Roasted chicken, turkey, duck, fish and other sea food, various Mexican cuisine seasoned with lime.

ALCOHOL: 12.5%

Cusumano Catarratto Sicilia

Fresh, crisp white with a medium structure and mild acidity. Citrus fruit, lemon zest and citrus blossoms on the nose, along with hint of tropical fruits, herbs and sweet spices. Lovely minerality on the finish.
