The partnership of Stefano Caruso and Mario Minini joined two families under the umbrella of one company: Caruso & Minini. Since 2004, this winery in Marsala, in western Sicily, has been using the generations of winemaking knowledge carried in the blood of the Caruso family and the sales expertise of the Minini family to create wines that are quickly spreading around the world. With 120 hectares of vineyards filled with both local and international varieties of grapes, the company is able to craft a beautiful selection of wines sure to please any wine lover.
Caruso & Minini Terre Di Giumara Frappato Nerello Mascalese Sicilia is just one wine out of the company's extensive portfolio of fine Sicilian wines. The Nerello Mascalese grapes used have a large number of tannins while the Frappato has a low amount. The balance achieved by mixing these two varieties of grape is simply perfect. A small percentage of the wine is allowed to mature in barriques for four months while the rest ages in stainless steel. This dual ageing helps to give the final wine its lightness.
Dense and aromatic, this wine has enough acidity to make it the perfect pairing for either fish or meat. A chameleon in the world of red wines, you can pair it with cheese or, of course, enjoy it on its own or in the company of good friends.

- View: This wine has a light ruby colour with shades of red plum.
- Nose: Intense cherry scents can be smelled as soon as the bottle is opened. Upon deeper inspection, more subtle scents of strawberry, liquorice, and volcanic rocks appear.
- Mouth: On the palate, this wine bursts with flavours of cherries, plums, and other red berries. The medium-full tannins make the drink elegant. The high acidity of the wine adds something special to the wine's flavour.
VINEYARD: The Caruso Minini vineyard is named after two families that started the winery in 2004. The Caruso family had previous experience in viniculture, while the Minini family specialized in marketing. Together, the families purchased 120 hectares of land in Trapani, Italy. Here, the land is about 450 meters above sea level.
GRAPES: Frappato and Nerello Mascalese
AGEING: The grapes were aged for a short time (15-20) days in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation temperature was kept at a constant 25°C.
PREPARATION: All of the grapes used in this wine are picked by hand. The grapes are macerated and then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days. The grapes then go through further malolactic fermentation, also in stainless steel tanks, before the wine is bottled.
PAIRING: This wine pairs best with red meat, lamb, and tomato-based pasta sauces.
