In 1835, the young Manuel María González Ángel founded González Byass starting a long and passionate career in the world of wine. It was his Uncle Pepe who offered him the necessary support to begin his journey in the fascinating business of Jerez, teaching him everything he knew about Fino wine. So great was the help Pepe gave his nephew that the founding solera of the winery bears his name as a tribute, Solera del Tío Pepe. Thus was born the most renowned Fino wine in Spain and probably in the world.
To this day the winery continues to be a family business and is under the administration of the fifth generation of González who, throughout all this time, have remained faithful to the ideals of their founder and passionate about the world of wine. From this winery we invite you now to discover the Croft Original, a generous wine with DO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry which is made of palomino grapes and has a 17.5 vol.alc.
This delicate wine and pale in color invites you to enjoy itsclean and balanced aromas with notes of flower and fruits. Croft Original (Palomino)
- Color: Bright golden yellow.
- Nose: floral notes of elderflower and lily of the valley with warm aromas of creamy baked apples, lemon and mint.
- Palate: Very elegant and harmonious with complete balanced sweetness. Clean and fresh with an aromatic finish, sweet.
VINEYARD: González Byass in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. 175 years ago, a British wine merchant Robert Byass joined with the Gonzalez family in Spain together to bring great sherries to Britain. In 1970, he founded his own production Croft Jerez sherry with about 350 hectares of vineyards and wineries highly modern equipped. Own Croft Original Cream Sherry quickly became an international success. The company is still family owned and sold around the world and sherry wine today.
VARIETY Palomino (100%)
AGING: A unique feature of these wines is the aging process according to the traditional Solera method. It is a system that uses stacked barrels, which removes part of the contents of the barrel and mixed with the lower barrel, wherein the barrel is then filled with the contents of the upper barrel. Thus, the new wine is gradually mixed with the rest of the old content.
PREPARATION: The Croft Original is prepared from the mixed Fino Vine Palomino, ie without the usual addition of grapes Pedro Ximénez.
