Portuguese red wine Adega de Pegões 2018 is produced in the Setubal region. It is a peninsula located only 40 kilometres from Lisbon and was already a popular wine region among the Phoenicians. The French Sun King Louis XIV was also a great fan of wines from the Setúbal region.

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: dark cherry red color with purple tints.
  • Nose: Aromatic notes of ripe red fruits; gooseberries, plums, blueberries, blackberries. With herbal touches, spices and vanilla.
  • Mouth: Intense flavor of tannins, with balanced acidity. It has a velvety texture to the palate and an aromatic aftertaste.

APPELLATION: Setubal Peninsula.

VINEYARD: Cooperativa Isidro de Pegoes.

GRAPES: Syrah.

AGEING: This wine is aged 8 months in French oak barrels.

PREPARATION: The grapes are pressed and macerated gently to warm temperatures. The wort is fermented in stainless steel tanks, using controlled natural yeasts and warm temperatures. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 8 months. Finally, it stabilized, filtered and bottled.

WINE PAIRING: Roasted red meats, stews, game birds, lamb, pork chops, sauteed vegetables, mushroom risotto, pasta red sauces, pizzas, carpaccio, aged cheeses, sausages.
