Over the centuries, Château Rieussec has changed owners several times until 1985 when it was bought by Baronss Domaine de Rothschild, which allowed him to go even further in the search for an increasingly high quality. The vineyards occupy one of the highest points in Sauternes, after those of Yquem, with a ghiaiso and calcareous soil. The yields of currently screws are less than 15 quintals per hectare. Sweet white wine, full bodied, fruity and spicy, aged at least 18 months in French oak barrels. From deep golden color presents a floral bouquet with fruity shades of peach, pear, green almond and apricot jam and a hint of spicy ginger cream. At palto it is soft, creamy and with great persistence

Perhaps the "spannedste" all Sauternes vineyards. Château Rieussec is located in the district of Fargues as immediate, Château d'Yquem from eastern neighbor. It went through in the last 200 highs and lows of a winery in this region and has regularly passed at short intervals. With the acquisition of the estate by M. Albert Vuillier 1971, the quality improved dramatically. Unfortunately, he had in 1984 for lack of funds resell. Thanks to the new owners, a group of investors - under the direction of Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite), located Château Rieussec has established itself as a Super Second of Sauternes. "The 2011 Rieussec has a lightweight, currently pretty wood accented bouquet with aromas of honey, almonds and pineapple. Hopefully he will develop more expression to the time of bottling. On the palate, medium-bodied with tropical fruits and tangerines, with up to a viscous core pickled in honey fruit develops. In the finish it looks a bit loose, although I'm sure it will grow together until the filling more. " Neal Martin for RP April 2012

Château Rieussec 1Er Cru Classé Sauternes 375ml 2010
Pale yellow with coppery nuances. Exotic scents of lemon. Delicious aftertaste.
It is better not to pair this with food, as otherwise its fabulous taste might not be appreciated adequately.
It was served at a wedding.

Rieussec Sauternes 1Er Cru Classé 1/2 Flasche 375ml 2010
I do not know where I bought it.
A dark yellow . It brought back neat memories of daffodil. Full bodied, good acidity, as all Bordeaux.
