Description of Château Rieussec 2007
Château Rieussec 2007 (Sémillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc)
- Colour: Golden colour very bright.
- Nose: candied, with delicious notes of figs and apricots.
- Palate: The mouth is wide and smooth, with intense notes of candied fruit and lovely persistence.
VINTAGE 2007: A cold winter and rainy, early budbreak and very pleasant spring temperatures favored the development of the vineyards. The temperate summer, without excessive heat, lasted until the end of August and the good weather held steady in early September, which favored proper ripening.
IN THE 18TH CENTURY, the Rieussec estate belonged to the Carmes de Langon monks. The confiscation of the estate during the revolution led to its public sale around 1790 as an "object of national heritage" to Mr. Marheilhac, the period's owner of Château La Louvière at Léognan.More about the Winery
