Description of Château Rieussec 1998
Château Rieussec 1998 (Sémillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc)
- View: Château Rieussec 1998 has a beautiful golden yellow color quite dark;
- Nose: candied fruit greedy nose (citrus, lemon, grapefruit) and honey
- Mouth: still has a good refreshing acidity that tempers the residual sugar; mouth is fat, sweet, pretty and elegant; good balance and good length.
PAIRING: to the top of the meal with melon, foie gras, harmonizes well with the exotic cuisine, also with touch type of seafood, dessert with blue cheese, slightly acidic fruits like kiwi, strawberries and oranges
GRAPES: 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon blanc
CELLAR: Château Suduiraut
IN THE 18TH CENTURY, the Rieussec estate belonged to the Carmes de Langon monks. The confiscation of the estate during the revolution led to its public sale around 1790 as an "object of national heritage" to Mr. Marheilhac, the period's owner of Château La Louvière at Léognan.More about the Winery
