Château d'Yquem Sauternes 2016

Wine Château d'Yquem - Sauternes 2016 Considered the best sweet wine in the world, Château d'Yquem is 1er Cru Classé of Sauternes wines. Located south of Bordeaux, the vineyard castle covers 113 hectares and is cultivated in the traditional manner. A vine is needed to produce a glass of Yquem! The Château d'Yquem 2016 a beautiful golden color with silver highlights. has a complex bouquet, very well defined fruit infusion fragrance, rich in honey and fresh fish. The mouth is a powerful wine with notes of honey and orange, balanced, rich sweet flavors. Domaine Château d'Yquem In 1453 Château d'Yquem, previously owned by kings of England while the dukes of Aquitaine, became French under King Charles VII. In 1593, Jacques Sauvage, a local notable, became tenant at Yquem and made rebuild the castle. His descendant Léon de Sauvage d'Yquem was knighted by the redemption fee July 16, 1711. The current buildings of Château d'Yquem date from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and form a quadrangle around a vast courtyard; the castle was classified historic building in 2003 for its decorations and paintings (frescoes in the chapel, fireplaces and frescoes of the main building). On June 6, 1785, the last heir of the family Sauvage Ychem Françoise Josephine, wife of Louis-count Amédée de Lur-Saluces. The count died October 31, 1788 in Paris, leaving the estate to his widow. It is under the management of the latter that the fame of Yquem wine will develop. The Château d'Yquem gets 1855 ranking in Superior Premier Cru. In 1996, Château d'Yquem is the subject of a stake of the LVMH group, managing to buy the first 38%, then the majority of shares since 1999, currently at 64%. In May 2004, the management is entrusted to Pierre Lurton. See all wines from winery Château d'Yquem

It had a deep colour at first sight. Black plum compote flavours.

Superior!
Noble, Yquem is the unique Premier Cru Supérieur of Bordeaux.
The robe is gold colour, this wine is silky. The bouquet is saffron. On the palate, it is sweety. Yquem is more than "superior".

It is distinguished, and rich.
Bordeaux could not exist without Yquem.
2006 had an excellent crop.
Climate is good and soils are different and rich.

Our bottles come directly from Château d'Yquem

We had the great chance to taste this superbe wine en primeur at the château at the end of April. And we discovered an Yquem 2003 showing an induspitable superiority on all of the botrytised sweet white wines... even though 2003 is incredible for all of the Sauternes appellation.
Yquem is the perfect balance between all the elements that make a wine THE wine for eternity.Drink or keep: EternalDelicious with: Foie gras

Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes Premier Grand Cru 2002
Discovering Chateau d'Yquem stats with the bouquet. Although not always very outgoing in young vintages, it is marked by fruit (apricot, mandarin, and occasionally tropical fruit) and oak (vanila and toasty aromas). Older vintages, on the other hand, have extraordinarily complex fragrance as soon as the bottle is opened. The bouquet is amazingly suble, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricot, prune, stewed fruit, and marmalade), spice (cinnamom, saffron, and liquorice), and even flowers (linden blossom, etc).
The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem on the palate is always very silky, and often sumptuous. It then fills out, "coating the palate". This fine wine has a strong, but never overbearing character, with great elegance and poise. It always mantains a balance between sugar and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness can also contribute to the overall harmony. Chateau d'Yquem aftertaste is legendary, and it tells another story, which lasts and lasts...
