Château d'Yquem is a wine "Premier Cru Supérieur" produced in Sauternes, a region that is located in the south of Bordeaux. In the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855, Château d'Yquem was the only Sauternes to have this qualification. The grapes are harvested in the same way in Chateau d'Yquem for centuries. At harvest time, 140 people divided into four groups involved in the collection. Scour the entire vineyard in search of cibebas who have reached the highest sugar concentration. As soon as they are harvested, the grapes are then transported quickly in the cellar, where they are pressed several times. This is essential to completely extract the substances contained nell'acino. Alcoholic fermentation occurs naturally and lasts for about 3-4 weeks at the end of which the wine will have a sugar content of about 125 g / l. After fermentation the wine is ready for a period of aging in new barrels. Every three months, the wine is separated from the dregs from the bottom of the barrel. The wine finishes the aging in oak barrels and is bottled in the fourth spring after the harvest. Intense golden yellow color; the bouquet is incredibly fine, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricots, prunes, cooked fruit and jam), spices (cinnamon, saffron and liquorice), and even the flowers (lime blossom, etc.). The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem is always very silky on the palate, and often sumptuous. completely envelops the palate. This wine has a strong character, but never intrusive, with great elegance. It always keeps in balance between sugars and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness may also contribute to the harmony general. In addition to traditional combinations such as foie gras and blue cheeses, it blends wonderfully with seafood and shellfish and, similarly, is the fabulous wedding with some fish, such as turbot and sea bass. Serve at 6th - 8th C

Château d'Yquem 2015Sauternes - Premier Grand Cru ClasséDégustation Neal Martin: 98/100 - The Wine Advocate "The 2015 Château d'Yquem twinkled when I tasted the premiere property last year blend of 75% Semillon and 25% Sauvignon. white, it delivers 144 grams per liter of residual sugar. Now the wine is bottled, this bouquet "show-stop" original has become more refined. in fact, you could almost describe it as casual or elegant until that it begins to unfold like magic and deliver enticing scents of lemon curd, the orange cord, freshly opened cans of apricot and wild honey. You would call the most aromatic "pretty" as "powerful" but of course, it is beautifully set. The palate is well balanced with this power line intact acidity. it's a little spicier than I remember, with a cold, viscous finish. There is a back- per taste resistant where the mouth tingle about 60 seconds after the start of the wine. Maybe I was optimistic when I suggested that it could be classified alongside the Royal Yquem 2001 and 2009. The 2015 does not belong to this sacred company. But he is a prince to the king and the queen. Tasted September 2017. "guard Rating: From 2023 to 2070.

Superior!
Noble, Yquem is the unique Premier Cru Supérieur of Bordeaux.
The robe is gold colour, this wine is silky. The bouquet is saffron. On the palate, it is sweety. Yquem is more than "superior".

It is distinguished, and rich.
Bordeaux could not exist without Yquem.
2006 had an excellent crop.
Climate is good and soils are different and rich.

Our bottles come directly from Château d'Yquem

We had the great chance to taste this superbe wine en primeur at the château at the end of April. And we discovered an Yquem 2003 showing an induspitable superiority on all of the botrytised sweet white wines... even though 2003 is incredible for all of the Sauternes appellation.
Yquem is the perfect balance between all the elements that make a wine THE wine for eternity.Drink or keep: EternalDelicious with: Foie gras

Discovering Chateau d'Yquem stats with the bouquet. Although not always very outgoing in young vintages, it is marked by fruit (apricot, mandarin, and occasionally tropical fruit) and oak (vanila and toasty aromas). Older vintages, on the other hand, have extraordinarily complex fragrance as soon as the bottle is opened. The bouquet is amazingly suble, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricot, prune, stewed fruit, and marmalade), spice (cinnamom, saffron, and liquorice), and even flowers (linden blossom, etc).
The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem on the palate is always very silky, and often sumptuous. It then fills out, "coating the palate". This fine wine has a strong, but never overbearing character, with great elegance and poise. It always mantains a balance between sugar and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness can also contribute to the overall harmony. Chateau d'Yquem aftertaste is legendary, and it tells another story, which lasts and lasts...
