Château d'Yquem 2007

2007 is a year that is part of law among those who have written the Château d'Yquem legend. The Noble Mold grows late, between late September and early October, but its development is complete (which is rare), just like the 1997. Beyond the particular climatic conditions of this vintage eventful, Château d'Yquem triumphs in 2007 standing out as one of the greatest vintages of Sauternes. The color shines with a glittering gold. The nose shows intense romatica purity, which is the prerogative of Yquem style. The olfactory bouquet made up of many nuances, opens on the concentration of exotic fruits, then give way to the greed of honey notes. Next are the refreshing notes of citrus, such as grapefruit and lemon. On the palate, the wine is vibrating energy and bursts of flavors, revealing a mouth the precise plot and ending. Example of harmony, the balance between sweetness, acidity and alcohol, has a fullness worthy of the greatest Sauternes.

Château Yquem 2007

A good wine to enjoy with good friends.
Deep colour, characteristic of Château Yquem. I enjoyed it quite long after tha last sip.
I would have accompanied it with a fatty fish.

Château d'Yquem is a wine "Premier Cru Supérieur" produced in Sauternes, a region that is located in the south of Bordeaux. In the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855, Château d'Yquem was the only Sauternes to have this qualification. The grapes are harvested in the same way in Chateau d'Yquem for centuries. At harvest time, 140 people divided into four groups involved in the collection. Scour the entire vineyard in search of cibebas who have reached the highest sugar concentration. As soon as they are harvested, the grapes are then transported quickly in the cellar, where they are pressed several times. This is essential to completely extract the substances contained nell'acino. Alcoholic fermentation occurs naturally and lasts for about 3-4 weeks at the end of which the wine will have a sugar content of about 125 g / l. After fermentation the wine is ready for a period of aging in new barrels. Every three months, the wine is separated from the dregs from the bottom of the barrel. The wine finishes the aging in oak barrels and is bottled in the fourth spring after the harvest. Intense golden yellow color; the bouquet is incredibly fine, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricots, prunes, cooked fruit and jam), spices (cinnamon, saffron and liquorice), and even the flowers (lime blossom, etc.). The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem is always very silky on the palate, and often sumptuous. completely envelops the palate. This wine has a strong character, but never intrusive, with great elegance. It always keeps in balance between sugars and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness may also contribute to the harmony general. In addition to traditional combinations such as foie gras and blue cheeses, it blends wonderfully with seafood and shellfish and, similarly, is the fabulous wedding with some fish, such as turbot and sea bass. Serve at 6 ° - 8 ° C

Honey, acacia, Mirabelle and a hint of apple blossom with a viscous entry, very pure with honey, white peach, fresh pear, lemon and orange zest; incisive focus and nervosite, very pure botrytis, adorned with an almost tense zesty finish

The Château D'Yquem, is located in the Bordeaux vineyards. This is a great winery 113 ha where the vines are 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon. The field does not use its entire area, because every year the vintners sell 2-3 hectares of old vines and leave fallow for a year and then replanted. The new vines planted and are not operated within 5 years. The Château d'Yquem produced there, is a sweet wine. It is also the only Sauternes Premier Cru which is ranked higher, his fame far beyond the French borders.

Reviews about Château d'Yquem 2006

Noble, Yquem is the unique Premier Cru Supérieur of Bordeaux.
The robe is gold colour, this wine is silky. The bouquet is saffron. On the palate, it is sweety. Yquem is more than "superior".

It is distinguished, and rich.
Bordeaux could not exist without Yquem.
2006 had an excellent crop.
Climate is good and soils are different and rich.

Reviews about Château d'Yquem 2003

Our bottles come directly from Château d'Yquem

We had the great chance to taste this superbe wine en primeur at the château at the end of April. And we discovered an Yquem 2003 showing an induspitable superiority on all of the botrytised sweet white wines... even though 2003 is incredible for all of the Sauternes appellation.
Yquem is the perfect balance between all the elements that make a wine THE wine for eternity.Drink or keep: EternalDelicious with: Foie gras

Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes Premier Grand Cru 2002
Discovering Chateau d'Yquem stats with the bouquet. Although not always very outgoing in young vintages, it is marked by fruit (apricot, mandarin, and occasionally tropical fruit) and oak (vanila and toasty aromas). Older vintages, on the other hand, have extraordinarily complex fragrance as soon as the bottle is opened. The bouquet is amazingly suble, with hints of dried fruit (dried apricot, prune, stewed fruit, and marmalade), spice (cinnamom, saffron, and liquorice), and even flowers (linden blossom, etc).
The first impression of Chateau d'Yquem on the palate is always very silky, and often sumptuous. It then fills out, "coating the palate". This fine wine has a strong, but never overbearing character, with great elegance and poise. It always mantains a balance between sugar and acidity (sweetness and freshness). A touch of bitterness can also contribute to the overall harmony. Chateau d'Yquem aftertaste is legendary, and it tells another story, which lasts and lasts...

The best white wine in the world, probably the best vintage that still can be found, save practically eternal. What more could you ask for?
